Active Navigation provides Taxonomy Management to LFEPA

The London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority (LFEPA) recently used Active Navigation to explore a subset of their content to help better understand their information assets. Considerable manual effort had already been invested in building a taxonomy in spreadsheet format, but ongoing maintenance was seen as prohibitive, and the level of coverage of the taxonomy was poor, which meant that intelligently accessing, or understanding their data was very difcult.

Within 10 days, Active Navigation analysed around 150,000 documents (in a wide variety of formats and in multiple secure lestore locations) and mapped the existing taxonomy to the content. The organisation was provided with an in-depth understanding of their data based on the documents actual content.
