SharePoint Migrator Release 3.8 Now Available
The latest version of our SharePoint Migrator is now available and has been designed to work with our release 3.8 software to move in bulk, clean information to SharePoint. The Migrator exploits metadata extracted by our Discovery Engine in order to create consistent content types and tags (such as summaries and keywords), so that quality information is available from the outset to drive information management policies, support search and workflow and improve regulatory compliance.
Contact your account manager if you are interested in learning more about the Migrator |

Information Governance Basics
Our view on how information management concepts and the overall market is gradually getting to grips with the fundamental challenges of information governance
There’s a great deal being said on the web about the challenges of information governance right now, running from commentaries on the opportunities presented by SharePoint 2010 to the importance of governance in containing rising legal risk. Readers won’t be surprised that we’re big fans of Gartner’s increasingly prominent messaging around Enterprise Information Governance, where Debra Logan is our favourite Gartner commentator on the subject. In her Gartner blog, Debra pursues some highly relevant issues for Active Navigation users, including the ways in which organisations fail in their governance, the legal ramifications of doing so and the impact of the information explosion on efficiency. Debra is joined by some other prominent names in the blogosphere, such as John Mancini (President of AIIM) and Russ Stalters (BP’s Director of Information and Records), each presenting their own take on how to make sense of this complex and high value area of information management.
We recommend that those seeking some informative and objective advice keep an eye on these blogs. They’re well written and contain some great material.

On 3rd of March, we held our 4th User Focus Group in Leeds. The event was attended by customers and partners alike and provided some great opportunities to exchange best practices for addressing legacy content challenges such as metadata extraction and determining content value. The group had the chance to review an early version of our SharePoint Migrator and test mock ups of Release 4.0 task flows and user interfaces. Comments from attendees provided some valuable input into our product design. The next Focus Group event is planned for June; registered users can learn more about our Focus Group events on our User Community blog.
