Active Navigation selected for Gartner’s Innovative Emerging UK IT Providers Report
In October, Gartner recognised Active Navigation is its annual emerging providers report. The Report aims to “create a level of awareness around a handful of deserving but unheralded providers”. To compile the Report Gartner worked with 25 vendors and selected eight based upon pragmatic value delivered to customers, disruptive or highly differentiating characteristics, reputation and market momentum and potential for future success.
Gartner subscribers can view the full report here. Alternatively, our press release is available with more detail on our website.

Information Governance Basics
Our view on how information management concepts and the overall market is gradually getting to grips with the fundamental challenges of information governance
In September we attended the Gartner Portals, Content and Collaboration summit in London. As usual, the event was full of valuable insight; however, this year we were struck by the presence of Information Governance on the agenda and particularly the issues around legacy content management. We lost count of the number of times analysts referred to the need to address the digital debris or flotsam and jetsam clogging up the modern enterprise’s information systems. Our first white paper describes the cost, risk and efficiency challenges modern organisations face when dealing with such unmanaged information stores. Throughout the first half of the year we invested in recruitment of a range on new roles in support, delivery and development. With the market moving fast we continued this trend in October, stepped up the pace still further by adding three new sales people to our headcount, including established industry hand Roger Johnston to head up our Sales and Marketing effort. We welcome Roger and his colleagues to the Team; more information about this appointment is available on our website.

Engagement Programme moves up a level |

Our second User Forum exceeds expectations
On the 7th of October, despite torrential rain, 32 partners and customers made their way to Lainston House Hotel near Winchester to take part in our second annual User Forum. The two-day event saw delegates and our staff come together to network, learn about our roadmap and explore the real-life implementation of information governance projects and solutions. Having achieved such a great turnout (almost double that of last year), the agenda proved to be a great success with all of the breakout sessions packed with valuable discussion and everyone making the most of opportunities to review new designs, talk about their projects and experiment with our tools.
Watch out for future engagement events scheduled for next year.

Updated support material and documentation now available
With the Release 3.8 available we’ve made a big effort to update and overhaul our documentation. User guides are now embedded in our applications as well as being available in our website customer resource library for download. On the site, registered customers will also find improved Quick Start sheets for each of our tools as well as a range of other useful resources such as presentation materials from events.
