John O’Connell

Recognized as one of Europe’s top technology entrepreneurs, John is the Non-Executive Chairman of Active Navigation. John was founder, Chairman and CEO of workflow and business process management software company, Staffware Plc. The company grew tenfold as a publicly listed company before it was sold in 2004 for $250 million to Tibco Software Inc. John is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants and was recognized as a Master of Information Technology by AIIM International. He has co-authored the book ‘Mastering Your Organization’s Processes’, published by Cambridge University Press.

Neil Kipling

Neil is a Non-executive Director of Active Navigation and Chairman and CEO of IDBS, which he founded in 1989. He built IDBS into a leading provider of data management and analytics software for Life Science and Healthcare R&D. IDBS has won numerous industry and general awards, including being honored with double Queen’s Awards.  Neil was awarded an honorary doctorate (DUniv) from the University of Surrey in 2008 for his outstanding contributions to biotechnology and cheminformatics on an international level. Neil is also a Patron of the Prince’s Trust Technology Leadership Group.

Peter Vardigans

Peter has been a Non-executive Director of Active Navigation since 2003, and is the company’s former Chairman. His business experience spans more than 35 years. After an early finance career in industry, he co-founded Babcock & Brown in London in 1983, later becoming UK Chief Executive and an international partner of the firm. He now acts as an advisor and non-executive director for a range of technology and asset finance businesses.
